Sand Soccer - Dune Divas

This year Jane had a couple friends ask her if she wanted to play on their sand soccer team. She has never played before, but the rest of the girls had been playing together for a few years now. She decided to try it and loved it!

It's very physical, which plays well to Jane's strengths.

On day one they lost their first game and then won their second.

In between games it was time to run into the surf and cool off!

Then they went to the hotel pool to rinse off the sand...

We ate snacks, read books, took naps...

We went to get ice cream and then headed to the stadium to watch the professionals play...which was very entertaining!

Day two was HOT.

Their Sunday game was a fierce battle that ended in a 0-0 tie. Not bad for the first year!

Flag Football

Ben and Rosie played flag football together this year, and ended up on the Commanders! They were thrilled at their team!

Rosie was the snapper, and Ben played a lot of quarterback.

These two were fierce! Ben absolutely loves flag football! Rosie enjoys it but hasn't decided if she'll keep playing. She was the only girl on their team, and in the whole K-3rd grade group. I believe there was one other girl in the older division but she had to fly solo in hers.

Jane Spring Soccer

I don't have a lot to say about Jane's spring soccer season. She played hard, she got better, and she was also juggling it while simultaneously focusing on lacrosse. She had a great time with her team. Unfortunately her coaches quit after the fall so there was a bit of a bumpy start to the spring as they transitioned to a new coach, but he ended up being great. 

 There was a fair amount of carpooling with Annie and Piper - which Jane loved!

One day she even played at Mary Stratton Park (the name of Papa Laser's mom!) - so fun!

Next year, soccer transitions from birth year to school year, so this team will be breaking up! Jane's birthday unfortunately places her with the grade below the one she will be in. The league is letting her play with her grade, but she has to start on the lowest team and work her way up - so sadly she doesn't have a single girl on her team next year from this year. It'll be a big change!

The Shoe with Eleanor and Jane

Chris took Ben and Rosie to the Shoe last month, and Jane has been dying to go. The other evening he took the two of them:

Ben's spring soccer season

Ben played soccer this spring with the Sharks. He had such a great time! He hasn't played soccer in quite awhile due to flag football and lacrosse, but he has come a long way.

He also really liked his coach, Coach Boyko.
