Bethlehem Walk

Last weekend I went with a few people to see the Bethlehem Walk.  It was really pretty amazing!  They had an entire town set up for everyone to walk through following Jesus' life from birth to the tomb.  They even had Roman soldiers come by to harass you for not paying your tax into the city (the tour is free - they give you the shekels for the tax before you start).

You visit the woman at the well, and eventually make your way to the inn where the innkeeper turns away Mary and Joseph and tells them to sleep in the manger - the only place where there's room.  A heavenly host appears and then Jesus is born!

Then the wise men coming bearing their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Afterwards, you follow Mary and Joseph with Jesus to the temple where they meet Simeon and Anna.

And through a number of other stops that end up at the cross, and then the empty tomb.

It was a really fascinating experience.  We went on the last day it was open this year so it was a bit of a wait to get in - but definitely worth it.  Everyone participating had so much heart and it ended up being a great experience.  I definitely recommend going next year to anyone living near the Richmond area.
