Since it's been ridiculously hot recently, we ended up going to the beach (aka the river) to be near the water.
When we got home, we baked some 4th of July themed cookies. I feel like a holiday is too good of an excuse to bake to pass up :)
Chris and I ended up going down to the Governor's palace green in Colonial Williamsburg to hear the end of the 1812 Overture played by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and watch the fireworks go off. I've never spent a 4th of July in Williamsburg, so it was a great experience! The fireworks were wonderful and downtown was packed; there must have been tens of thousands of people down there.
Happy 4th of July!!
