There are so many wonderful traditions here at this school, but none of them seem to unify the campus in quite the same way as convocation. Chris and I sat in the sunken gardens and reminisced about who we went to convocation with (Jennie! Kayla!) and how wonderful it was to feel so welcomed by people who didn't even know who you were!

Convocation
Yesterday evening was one of my favorite campus traditions here at W&M: Convocation. The freshmen have a ceremony on one side of the Wren building and then get to walk through Wren while the bell tolls to meet the rest of campus in the sunken gardens. Students, faculty, and staff gather to cheer/welcome them to campus and it's really just an awesome display of what kind of community we have here. (Upon graduation, seniors process through the Wren building heading the opposite direction to signify leaving campus and get to ring the Wren bell themselves throughout the last day of classes.)
