My actual plan for the next few months is to enjoy living here during the fall, which happens to be one of the best times of year in Williamsburg, invest fully in my relationships here in town, and to not let myself become sidetracked from those goals by trying to finish up what has been a fairly arduous journey.

As an update to those of you who have been interested in what I'm up to on the nursing side of my life; I have been handed a respite for the first time since beginning this program: I am assigned to a Williamsburg hospital for my capstone course! I'm going to be doing my hours on a progressive care unit, which is essentially a step-down floor from the ICU where patients go when their needs are a bit more complex or demanding than can be cared for on a regular floor. In addition, for my community health outreach, I'll be serving as a volunteer doula for Richmond mothers that can't afford those services on their own. I am thrilled that I'll only be commuting 2-3 days a week and working here in town the other days!
