We made it out of the house together!

Yesterday Eleanor and I made our first trip out of the house together alone. We went to meet Chris for lunch near campus and it went pretty successfully. It was the first time I have driven since having her because Chris was home all last week helping us get adjusted to this new life. I fed her before we left, packed up her bag, put her in an "I love mommy" onesie hoping that the good vibe from the sentiment on her shirt would rub off on her to behave well for me (it did). I made sure she had long sleeves on so she wouldn't scratch up her face (one of her current favorite past times), and then let that sweet little girl do her thing (aka sleep). She was super chill the entire time, only making noise occasionally to stretch or blow some milk bubbles. The thing is, we have taken her out of the house almost every day of her short life thus far, but I have always sat in the back of the car with her to fend off her cries. Well, at 13 days old, she made it on a two hour excursion without incident, and you better believe I am sitting here patting myself on the back for that (as if it were me that accomplished something worthwhile instead of her).

So here she is, right after we got home in the midst of making some cute noises before I picked her up to play with her on the couch. As soon as I laid her down on the couch she promptly spit up a ridiculous amount of milk all over herself and the couch. It was all up in her hair. Good thing it is bath night.
