Doctors appointments for E & J

We finally got Eleanor and Jane into the doctor for their 4 and 2 year old appointments, respectively.

Eleanor at 4 years old had a special appointment because she got all of her Kindergarten shots done! We figured we likely wouldn't be back before Kindergarten started in the fall, so we went ahead and did them now. She was a champ! She had to get 3 different shots and didn't cry at all. The first one she was very brave for, but once she knew what was coming she said, "no, no, no!" before her second shot and then resigned herself to the third. Then she hopped up, bounced around a bit and recovered. She did so well that Jane jumped around saying, "my turn! my turn!" Eleanor weighs 34 pounds, 6 ounces (42nd percentile) and is 41.25 inches tall (77th percentile and 61.6% of the way to my adult height). Her BMI was 14.21 (15th percentile) - so our girl is tall and skinny at the moment. I am not surprised because she runs around so much and loves pretty much everything athletic - as long as it's not too hot outside.

Jane at 2 years old also had to get two shots, and while she didn't cry, she definitely didn't enjoy them either. Jane weighs 30 pounds, 9 ounces (88th percentile) and is 34 inches tall (59th percentile and 51% of the way to my adult height). Her BMI was 18.61 (92nd percentile), which didn't surprise us either because sweet Jane likes to cuddle and sit and dance more than run around these days (though she does enjoy running).

The girls got special goody bags (because Eleanor got her Kindergarten shots) and we were very proud of both of them. Plus the appointment was less than half the length of the time it took for me to take them in for their 1 and 3 year old appointments together so it was a win all around.

Haha I love that Jane was so excited when she saw Eleanor afterwards. Poor girl, probably wasn't as fun as she hoped. So brave though - way to go!
