We are very thankful this Memorial Day, and all days, for all the people who gave their lives in sacrifice to protect this country and its freedoms.
My mom and her boyfriend Dave rented a condo in Williamsburg for Memorial Day Weekend. My brother also ended up coming down for a bit! On Friday we met them over to the condo around dinner time to play in the pool, play some mini-golf, and then have pizza. The girls had such a blast playing over there.
On Saturday, they came over to our house and we took a bike ride. Eleanor made it out onto the trails on her bike and ended up riding almost 2 miles - the furthest she's ridden so far on her two-wheeler. We had a couple small melt downs on the way home, but overall she did very well. My mom and Dave ended up riding out to Jamestown Island and visiting the National Park there.
That evening we went over to one of our neighbors' houses to grill out and play. The girls have such a blast playing with the neighborhood kids. Eleanor particularly disappeared when we got there and I barely saw her until it was time to leave.
Sunday morning we headed back over to my mom's condo after church. We played in the pool for the afternoon and then went to their game room and the cinema to watch part of Moana before heading out to get some Mexican food. The girls had skipped their naps, as had the babies (who basically don't nap at all anymore unless they are swaddled in their beds) so at one point both babies were crying and Eleanor and Jane were both laying with their heads in my mom's lap. Not ideal...but that's why we don't go out to dinner much!
Eleanor had done Chris' sunscreen and we saw the results of that the next day...
On Monday morning Grandma and Dave came over for a short stop to say bye before they headed back home. Thanks for spending the weekend with us!!
We attempted Water Country for the first time this year that Monday and it was definitely challenging. I'm not sure how many times we'll go. Hopefully the babies will get better at it and we'll go a lot, but I'm not so sure!
That afternoon, the girls were so exhausted from the weekend that miraculously all four kids napped at the same time! We invited our neighbors over to grill that evening to cap off the weekend and just chatted on the back porch until it was time to put everyone to bed. A memorable Memorial Day in the books!

Memorable for sure! Poor Chris's back! I hope it heals up soon. Also - I've been noticing the last couple posts, it literally looks like Jane's hair is professionally done half the time. Lucky girl.
It was a full weekend! I am so glad we got to spend much of it with you guys!!
What a busy weekend. So much to do, great post!
