On the last night of summer, the girls and I camped in our backyard. Ben and Rosie came out to read some books before bed and desperately did not want to go inside to sleep in their beds. I almost gave in because Rosie's lip quiver game was so strong.
The girls had an agenda. First we went on a nature walk with flashlights. We made it down to the marina and the girls found some friends and lifeguard pals so we hung out down at the water for a bit.
We did some star gazing on the trampoline.
We also made s'mores, colored, and read stories.
The girls fell asleep around 9:30 and slept until just about 6 - 6:45. When we woke up, Chris had made us a camping breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. The girls got hot chocolate and I had a steaming cup of coffee.
It really went quite well, but I was happy to get back to my regular bed the next night!
