Jane is fifteen months old!

Our sweet Jane is fifteen months old! She has changed so much since her first birthday. Jane weighs 24 pounds, 12 ounces (89th percentile), is 31 inches long (67th percentile and 46% of the way to my adult height), and her head circumference is 18 inches (51st percentile).

Perhaps the biggest change over the last three months is that Jane started walking! Around 13 and a half months she decided crawling was too slow to keep up with the big girls, got up on her feet and has never looked back. Besides walking, she is also running. She has become very expressive and opinionated, as well. She uses grunts and gestures primarily to get what she wants, as she has little interest in talking. The words she does use are "milk," "mama," "dada," and "nana" for banana. Otherwise, Jane primarily signs, She uses signs (some real and some made up) for "milk," "all done," "more," "please," "night night," "brush teeth," "brush hair," "banana," "up," and "food." She also is slowly learning her body parts and can point to her hair, nose, mouth, teeth, belly, and toes.

Jane has always been our dancer and continues to love music and dancing. She also loves to hit balls with sticks (using both a small hockey stick and a plastic sword to play). She loves wearing necklaces and putting anything she can around her neck to wear. She likes playing peek-a-boo and chase.

Jane likes to show her affection by kissing and she gives Eleanor a hug every morning when she gets up. She has a mean jealous streak though, especially when I am holding or snuggling with Eleanor. Even if she wasn't near us before, she walks over, tries to push Eleanor out of the way and throws a fit on the floor.

Jane naps once a day in the afternoon (and occasionally will still fall asleep in the morning for a short nap) for 2-3 hours. We try to put her to bed around 7:30 pm (though she is frequently signing "night night, please" to us starting at 6:30 pm, so she sometimes goes down earlier) and sleeps until about 6:30 am. She still takes a bottle at night and in the morning but otherwise drinks whole milk and water through sippy cups and water bottles. She still loves her pacifier, as well. Jane has 6 teeth (her top four incisors and bottom central incisors) that are in all the way and is in the midst of breaking 3 more (her second bottom left incisor and two molars on the top). Her hair is growing very quickly now, too.
